Wands for Animagi AND Sirius's wand

I don't think they need them. How would Sirius transform in 
Azkaban?
 
 And one more thing, related to this topic -
 Yes, Sirius had to use Ron's and Snivelly's wands in the Shrieking 
 Shack. But then, in OoP, he has his own wand back. How is that 
 possible? Aren't the wands of the wizards who are sent to Azkaban 
 taken and (possibly) broken? How come Sirius had his wand back? 
Maybe 
 it was a new one - but then how could he have bought it? "Hello, 
Mr. 
 Ollivander, I am Sirius Black, I escaped from Azkaban and need a 
new 
 wand"??
