Supposedly only 3 people know about the prophecy: trelawney who made 
it, DD, and hwo ever was in the Hogs Head.  The veil is sinister and 
eivl!! It is a lure to ones death, not a 2-way door.  The whisperings 
are lures leading you to death! Lupin stopped Harry from going thru 
the veil because there is no way out.
