I am hoping there is more to the prophesy than just what we and Harry
heard, but, when re-reading PoA, I saw JKR also used ellipses in the
prediction Trelwney makes directly to Harry. This is the prophesy
about the servant going to join his master. In that prophesy it
seems clear the ellipses signaled pauses in speech, so unless she's
changed tack, I'd guess the ellipses in OoP are also implied pauses.
I was not pleased when I saw that. Really'd been thinking JKR was
holding out on us with those darned dots.
