I'll admit that I was rather disappointed with Cho too. I found her
comments about Cedric to be a bit...insensitive, and I really couldn't
figure out why she believed Hermione was such a threat. Then, I
remembered that even Molly Weasley got suckered in by Rita Skeeter's
articles about Hermione "breaking Harry's heart" (or some such...don't
have the books handy, so I can't give an exact quote).
Perhaps Cho (and maybe many other students) *also* believed the bogus
articles, and therefore she thought that Harry still had (unrequited?)
feelings for Hermione and was all too willing to say "How high?"
whenever Hermione asked him to jump.
