right there and legitimately claim self-defense.
It's also interesting that Snape had a SECOND chance
to finish-off Black. Snape was the first to regain
consciousness after Harry's Patronus drove-away the
Dementors. What was to stop Snape from calling them
back, or finishing-off Sirius himself?
At the very least, Snape followed due-process by turning
Black over to proper authorities (e.g. Dumbledore/Fudge)
...even if he was hoping that Black's fate would be sealed
right there (with a "kiss," no less). >>

You do put forward some good points, and I know on the
outside it seems that way when we read the book. To me
I read Snape's personality as someone who doesn't just
want to kill someone off, he doesn't seem the type (my
own personal view of Snape) he wants to belittle people
make them feel inferior, I think we have seen this
countless times when he teaches, such as with Neville
and Harry, he does take some pleasure in watching them
squirm, if Neville and Harry were as bad as what they
are at potions should he not as a teacher try at least
to help them, I can't ever remember him lending a
helping hand to any student.
I think the main point I'm trying to stress is Snape
is a very intelliget person, to my memory after he had
handed Sirius over, there was a conversation with
Fudge and it went something like this - He said the
children had been under some type of illusion that Sirius
might be innocent. He also said something about Dumbledore
being in the way or believing Sirius and the children.

I can't quote from POA, leant the book to a friend
but I certainly will look further into it.
I'm going to go through the books again to see exactly
where my ideas are from lol. It would probably make
more sense if I do.
