Well, I never saw Dumbledore as a father to Harry, but in the Jesus is
the son of god sort of way. Josheph was the one there on Earth with
Jesus taking care of the daily business of raising a child. God
watched and may have poked a mysterious finger in there now and again,
without anyone knowing.

So, Harry might rebel against Dumbledore, I think it likely, but not
in the sense of rebeling against his father. I think tht the Lupin
predicitons are most likely. He's the last one of the right age and
who knew his parents. Harry was always fond of him as a teacher as
well, plus the setup of him being the one with Harry when Sirius dies
is there too.

There's a movie called Dogma, part of the written/directed by Kevin
Smith Jay and Silent Bob series, which deals with a lot of religous
themes. I bring it up now because of something that the 13th (black,
unmentioned) apostle says abotu Jesus. About how you read about Jesus
being born in a manger and then the story picks up again 30 years
later as he spreads God's message. He goes on to say that in the
intervening years, Jesus was sulking and mad. How would you feel if
when you were 18 someone told you that you were he son of God and it
was your responsabilty to die to save humanity and so forth? You'd
rightly be pretty pissed, and would want to tell them to shove off,
and live your own life, not a predetermained fate.

I think thats how Harry feels. Dumbledore/God has told him that it's
his fate/duty to do these things. I think Harry's on the edge of
saying 'screw it all, let me just be a kid.'

Dorry for the overly long post.
