Yeah, actually, I WAS thinking of Dumbledore as a sort of God-the-
Father figure.  But then, I'm seeing the whole story as a sort of 
modern version of the Atonement, with Harry being the one who will 
sacrifice his life to save the world.

(But I'll bet Jesus didn't yell at people as much as Harry does!) :)

Actually, it just occurred to me that if Rowling DOES take 
a "Christian" approach to ending the books, as I imagine she is 
going to, it will probably land her in a lot of trouble with people 
who already don't like her books.  I mean, popular novels about 
witches and magic are bad enough, but if she starts poaching on 
*religious* territory too?  Oh, boy...
