Me:
Sorry, but no. In GoF it is explicitly stated that Tom Riddle Sr
(Voldemort's dad) is living in the Riddle house with his parents.
These are the three who were killed by Tom Riddle Jr. Voldemort's
mother died in childbirth sixteen years previous (see CoS).

Me:
Go Figure Snape. Maybe he did. I had a feeling that he suspected
Quirell but didn't know he was Quirrelmort.

Me:
A portkey basically works like a camera. The one that Harry and crew
took to the Quiddich cup was basically on a timer so a lot of people
could grab it at the same time. The one Crouch!Moody made was set to
go off when it was touched, because he only wanted one person to grab
it. He didn't count on Harry and Cedric grabbing it at the same time.

Also why didn't

Me:
Crouch!Moody was making a concerned effort to act suspicious. It
would have been pretty weird if he snuck up to Gryffindor tower to
the boys' dorms (*cough*). Also, Voldemort's return was going to be
completely secret, the plan was for Harry to simply disappear at the
end of the tournament and never come back to tell the story (OoP).
Think for a minute if Mr. V had killed Harry at the cemetery:
Everyone at the third task would be wondering where the heck he'd
gone and Crouch!Moody would have been blameless.
