I always liked the idea that the Marauders were in 4 different
Houses, but I sort them differently :
- Prongs in Gryffindor (doesn't it say somewhere in the first books
that James was in the Gryffindor Quidditch team ?)
- Padfoot in Ravenclaw : James and Sirius have always been described
as very intelligent.
- Moony in Hufflepuff : quiet, hard-working, not really mischievous,
Lupin would definitely fit into Hufflepuff
- Wormtail in Slytherin : ambitious, power-hungry, and a coward. Not
that Slytherins are supposed to be cowards, though :-)

Ow, come on :-) Harry and Neville, all right, but I don't think
there's any doubt as to who is the most intelligent in the trio ?
Hermione is a perfect Ravenclaw, and Ron is a good Hufflepuff.

I'm not so sure. Harry might be the center of the group, but I think
it is the group that matters. Right from the first book, JKR made it
clear that Harry is not much without his friends. He always needed
Ron and Hermione to help him out, even if in the end, he fought LV
alone. So I don't think we're headed towards a "lonely hero" ending,
but more towards a "unity is strength" morale. Harry will still be
special, because he is the only one who can defeat LV, but he won't
be able to make it without the others. In fact, I think it's one of
the lessons in OoP : Harry needs the others, he can't make it alone.
When he keeps things to himself, he makes mistakes (keeping secret
the true reason he stopped taking Occlumency lessons led him to being
overcome by LV's power). When he refuses to listen to others' advice,
he makes mistakes (Hermione was right about his vision of Sirius at
the MoM). When he refuses to talk to others, he makes mistakes (He
almost drops the Magical World because he won't talk to his friends
about his supposedly being possessed by LV). And what about DD trying
to control everything on his own, and thus putting Harry and Sirius
in mortal danger ? The lesson of that one is quite obvious : don't
try to do it all yourself, get others involved ! Isn't it what the
Sorting Hat urges them to do : let all the Houses unite !!
