In Defense of RJ Lupin (who is a good guy no matter what the theory
may be)

Lupin spoke as if each word was painful when he mentioned getting the
rest of the others. Lupin was hurt beyond belief that he had lost
Sirius once more.

Lupin was called to Hogwarts for the DADA position by Dumbledore
because no one knew that Sirius was innocent. I do believe
Dumbledore places as much trust in Lupin as he does Snape.

Lupin also is the voice of reason at Grimmuald Place, the comforter,
the adult. He has to be guarded in his reactions to things, remember
he is a werewold and by nature of this, according to lore, he can be
violatle when provoked.
