It's mean, but for me, one of the few funny moments on OotP came
when Snape was getting fed up with Harry's lack of progress in
Occlumency, and he says, "You do know why I am giving up my evenings
to this tedious job?" It was the fact that I just KNOW that Snape's
evenings are probably not all that exciting anyway, but he just had
this little air of self-importance when speaking, as if he were
sacrificing all sorts of invitations to parties and the theatre in
order to teach this ungrateful brat. Of course, a quiet evening
with a book is nothing to sneer at, either, and I'm sure would be
much more pleasant for Snape than having to spend an hour with a
sullen Harry.
