  I am quite sure that the coward is Karkaroff and the loyalist is 
Barty Crouch Jr.  However, I am still not sure about the traitor as 
Snape.  Although, in reading some recent posts, it suddenly occured 
to me that maybe he was (the reason I looked back for someone who 
also thought this and found this post).
  This would explain why DD is so certain of Snape's loyalty.  
Sirius said that you can't just decide not to be on Voldemort's side 
(when talking about his brother's death), so maybe Snape is safe at 
Hogwarts?  This would also explain why Snape "protected" Harry 
various times.  He knows that Harry is the one who can kill 
Voldemort - and he fears for his own life.
   Of course, if Snape was a DE we are still missing the big piece 
of information: What made Snape change his loyalties?
  
  I have to admit that I myself see holes in this theory.  However, 
rather than making this post extremely long . . . I think it is best 
to post the thought and see what others have to say.
