Who Could Kill Dumbledore?

Lots of speculation that Dumbledore will die either in Book 6 or Book
7 leaving Harry to face Voldemort on his own. Which is not really a
new idea to us. He has faced him alone Book 1 through Book 4. It is
just that he always has the right training, help (Fawkes, etc.) or
luck to get the best of V.

SO, I have 2 problems with Dumbledore's death:
1. Why is it necessary when he has been conveniently absent at the
critical points in Book 1-4. True he did show up in Book 5
and "save" Harry-but for all we know that may have been foreseen in
another prophecy; and
2. Who would kill Dumbledore and How? After all he is the greatest
wizard who ever lived, and even V. fears him. Surely, JKR would not
dishonor him by allowing him to die by the hand of Bella, Voldie or
Wormtail. Lucius would also be a big No-No.

The only way I could buy into Dd's death would be if it was necessary
for him to sacrafice himself somehow to make Harry bigger, better,
stronger, wiser, etc.

Just wanted to see how others envision Dumbledore's death and at
whose hand.
