Kerry:"In OoP, when Molly sees everyone "dead," i understand her
seeing Arthur, and maybe even Ron and Harry, but why everyone else? I
too think that this is a clue as to the future books and Percy's
possible connection with Voldemort in future books."
Boggart visions aren't prophecies, they're your worst fear. She's
their mother, and seeing your children dead is a parent's greater
fear; I've got two girls, and my mind comes unhinged at the thought of
anything happening to either one. That's enough to explain what Molly
saw.
Percy has been moved by ambition and the idea that sucking up to
authority is the way to get ahead. We saw him at it in school. Percy
sees his father's career stagnated because he goes his own way and
thought he'd avoid the same "error." Now that Cornelius Fudge's
stock is down and Dumbledore's (and his father's) is up, he's got to
rethink. I have hopes for him, but he's a useless slug the way he is now.
Percy represents the unredeemed Hermione, the overachiever who is
devoted to working inside the structure. Hermione's mind-set was
transformed by being one of the Trio. Percy never had that experience,
growing up in peacetime. What did this year teach him?
