I'm pretty sure 'Quirenius'  came from one of the card games.  It rings a 
bell, at least. Personally, I like Owain Quirrell. That's the name I gave him for 
my role playing/fanfics.  His first name is never given in canon. Maybe JKR 
said something somewhere? I dunno.
