Hi, I might be heading in a totally wrong direction, but I couldn`t
help thinking about it.
I think Voldemort is not able to conjure a Patronus since Lupin
states "The Patronus is a kind of positive force, a projection of
the very things that the dementor feeds upon - hope, happiness, the
desire to survive..." (PoA US version p. 237)
Aren`t these part of the feelings Dumbledore believes Voldemort is
incapable of. Now you might say that he can feel happiness, i.e. the
escape of the Azkaban DEs, but is this true happiness? To me it
looks like satisfaction, nothing more.
And secondly, he doubt he would need the patronus charm to ward off
a dementor, even if they weren´t on his side, since he`s after all
the second most powerful wizard in the world.
Also, has anybody of you seen the live reading in the Royal Albert
Hall. JK says something quite interesting there. She simply states
does not YET have the power to fight LV. I know this looks stupid,
but why would she use the word yet instead of he doesn´t have the
power to fight him. Is this a possible (very weak and desparate)
hint?
My comment on Dumbledores lifespan. Might it be possible that he is
able to brew some kind of Phoenix powerup draft to restore his life
energy? This might be a possible explanation why he chose Fawkes as
a pet (next to his other extrordinary abilities). One last thought
on Fawkes: I think that if Dumbledore dies (and I`m sure he will, at
the beginning of book 7 at the latest), Harry will become fawkes new
owner, since JK hinted he might get a new pet later on
That`s all for now
Dominik
