I don't think Crouch should count as an example, since his tiredness 
was the result of being Imperioed (and fighting against it, 
presumably). I wouldn't say it *characterizes* him. 
Secondly, what about Gandalf? He's described as tired, looking old, 
etc., but he doesn't die. On the contrary, the weariness functions as 
a cloak that hides his strength. 
For this reason, I've always disagreed with the whole line of 
argument that sees in the descriptions of Dumbledore as old and tired 
a foreshadowing of his death. If anything, I see the scenes where JKR 
underlines how strong and vigorous Dumbledore is despite his look of 
age, foreshadow his survival and triumph.


Naama, who refuses to put any money on any prediction, but thinks 
that JKR will do a Voldemort and kill either Fred or George (i.e., 
the spare).
