What other curse scar?

GoF US version 1rst printing page 706 says "You'll forgive me, 
Dumbledore, but I've never heard of a curse scar acting as an alarm 
bell before..."

GoF UK version 13th printing page 613 says "You'll forgive me, 
dumbledore, but I've heard of a curse scar acting as an alarm bell 
before..."

IMHO if the UK version was incorrect it would have been fixed by the 
13th printing and Scholastic made the change on there own.
