I've been thinking about what DD might disclose to Harry when he
tells him "everything," and I have an idea.
We have learned in the first four books that James faced Voldemort on
his own to try to give Lily and Harry time to escape, and that Lily
gave her life defending Harry. That made me think that Harry was
Voldemort's real target, not James & Lily.
I think Dumbledore will tell Harry that, when Voldemort was around
the first time, a group of witches, wizards and other interested
magical parties joined together to try and help defeat him. These
people were the latest members of the Order of the Phoenix, an
ancient and secret society that rises whenever anything threatens the
peace and security of the magical community. The Order learned that
a powerful seer predicted that an evil would arise that would
threaten not only the magical community, but the muggle world as
well. They came to believe that this was Voldemort. Furthermore, I
think DD will explain that the seer also predicted that the evil
could be weakened, but would only ultimately be completely defeated
by a special child the child of a union between magical and
muggle
families. This child, if he lived, would be the most powerful wizard
ever known and the most compassionate protector of muggles too. When
Harry was born, the members of the Order, including Harry's
parents,
were deep into the fight against Voldemort. They came to believe
that Harry was this child. Voldemort believed it too, and that is
why he was after Harry.
Dumbledore will tell Harry that the prophecy is right. Harry is more
than the heir of Gryffindor. He is the chosen defender of good
magic.
