Snape and Polyjuice Potion in CoS

I had remembered that she said she heard Snape talking
about it in Potions Class a few weeks earlier <snip> ... he
said it could be found in a  book called Moste Potente

would he give out all
this information?  

Now me, Christina:

There have been many times in my classes where Professors
have gone off into (advanced) tangents, some of it spurred
on by what they are teaching and some of it brought on by a
question a student asked.  This is especially common in my
language classes (I study some Spanish and Italian) where
they might introduce a topic and say "There are other ways
of saying this, it is more complicated, but I will give you
a look at how it might go..." Blah, blah, blah....anywho,
back to Harry:  The Moste Potente Potions book is in the
Restricted Section.  I am sure that he assumed no second
year "dunderhead" student would be capable of getting the
book.  Indeed I don't think any of the other teachers would
have been gullible enough to sign the permission slip.  Cue
Lockhart.....

All of the above is just my humble opinion, lol...
