I'm new to this list and very impressed with the level of discussions and
theories. This is a great theory, except the Imperius Curse is supposed to
be illegal, isn't it? So did Voldemort put it on Harry before attempting to
kill him, or was it a byproduct of the spell that went wrong?
I'm more inclined to believe that Harry is used to not asking questions,
having been conditioned that way by the Dursleys, and that Dumbledore's
"when you're ready" comment caused Harry to think. Maybe he just trusts
Dumbledore to know when he's ready, or maybe he was a bit scared by this
comment. If it's something he has to be "ready" for, maybe Harry himself
felt that he wasn't.
Or maybe it's just a plot device, because JKR isn't ready to divulge that
info yet.
I can't wait to find out what Dumbledore is going to tell Harry in OoP, but
I'm sure the book as a whole will raise almost as many questions as it
answers...
