Speaking of Sirius Black being captured in OOP, I had the freakiest thought
last night. Don't know how much bearing it will ultimately have, but it
freaked me out for a minute or two when I had it.

Okay, we know that Dumbledore had a task for Snape to undertake if he "was
ready." We also saw Dumbledore have Sirius reveal his identity to Snape.
Now, I suppose that could be done just so everyone's on the same playing
field and knows who all their allies are, but I had another thought on this.

Some speculate that Dumbledore's task was to have Snape go back to Voldemort
to spy. In connection with this, many have said that if he were to do this,
he would either be tortured greatly and perhaps get back in, or be killed
(probably with some torture first) because Voldemort believes Snape has
turned on him. Now, if Snape has been asked to spy once again, and if Snape
is taken back into the Circle, we can be pretty sure that he will need some
great collateral to get himself back in V's good graces. I have a bad
feeling that Sirius could very well be that collateral. If Snape could give
Voldemort the way and means to capture/kill Sirius Black, I think Voldemort
would be pleased. That's after Voldemort is assured that the information
Snape is telling him about Sirius is genuine.

Now, I want to state I don't believe Sirius is the death of OOP, and I can
see this information being revealed more to set up a trap for either
Wormtail or Voldemort himself than to get Sirius himself killed. I realize
this thought is contingent on a lot of "ifs" coming true, but if this set of
circumstances does occur, things could look bad for a while for our dear
Padfoot.
