Sirius and the Dursleys

I think it's possible that Petunia and Vernon refused to have 
anything to do with Lily once she decided to marry James.  I can also 
believe that they attended the wedding in the interest of presenting 
an acceptable front to the rest of the world, and then promptly cut 
Lily and James as far out of their lives as possible.  And of course, 
they wouldn't try to keep any memories of Lily's and James' wizard 
associates.  Or, perhaps the name did ring a bell that they both 
immediately associated with "freaks" and, rather than admit to that, 
they ignored it.

Now, my favorite thought is that the Dursleys remember perfectly well 
who Sirius is, because he was Best Man to Petunia's Maid of Honor.  
Can you imagine her have to go through an entire ceremony linked with 
a wizard freak?  I do so hope that some day they will become 
reacquainted, preferably when a freed Sirius shows up at their house 
to take Harry away.
