I'm expecting to get either a "oh, we discussed this tons of times
already" or a "come on, this is completely absurd" reply, but I thought
I should risk the question anyway. 

What kind of name is "Algie"? Could it possibly a nickname for
Augustus?
As in Augustus Rookwood, from the Department of Mysteries, accused by
Karkaroff of being a Death Eater? We don't know what happened to
Rookwood, do we? Was he arrested, kissed by Dementors, or did he buy
his freedom by giving some names to the Ministry?

Honestly, *I* think this is completely absurd, a theory that would not
give us any answers but only more and more questions. But what if Uncle
Algie and Augustus Rookwood are one and the same obscure character?
