"So this got me thinking that some sort of disadvantage had occured to
Voldemort as a consequence of his rebirth... It might have to do with
Harry's blood... Or what if the missing finger on the arm that
Wormtail sacraficed, proved to have some sort of effect in Voldemort in the
long term?"

It's just like in the episode "Grave" of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Willow, a
witch (conviently enough! ;o) ) went to the dark side after the death of her
lover. Another character named Giles used borrowed magic to fight her.
However, she overpowered him and essentially sucked this extra magic out of
him. Which was just what he was planning for. This borrowed magic was meant
to "short-circut" her own and break through this very dark shadow she's
fallen under. Giles was going to die if she wasn't stopped. But she was...by
LOVE. The love of her best friend, Xander. And Giles lived! :o)

It's possible Dumbledore hoped for the same thing. Maybe Lily did some
ritual/spell as a last resort so Voldie would try to kill her and the curse
would rebound...but if Voldie ever came back and got a hold of this ancient
protection..it would essentially "short-circuit" his own magic. Maybe Voldie
will essentially revert to Tom Riddle.

I often wonder what was the final straw with the Riddle to Voldemort
transformation. Could it have been the death of someone else that he loved?

"Michael":

"I certianly hope that Rowling isn't planning to kill off Ron. I don't think
she can afford to (at least not until the last book). I wouldn't want to
read the books anymore if Ron wasn't in them (and I'm a big fan). Are there
anyother Potheads (this is my brother's name for Harry Potter fans) who are
fans of Ron and would ditch the series if he were killed?"

I am growing tired of how people think Ron's going off to the Dark side (and
as a result get himself killed). Ron is a normal, healthy, teenage boy. He's
supposed to be immature! Harry had to grow up very fast because of his past.
Hermione, as the only child of two dentists, is a perfectionist and much
more mature (as most girls are early on). So I say: Let Ron be who he is and
let him grow up at his own pace. Because he sulks or is rude or is jealous
or whatever doesn't mean he's any less loyal to Harry or Hermione or his
family.

However, if J.K. Rowling killed off Ron, I wouldn't stop reading. I've
invested too much time and money into the series. I'm holding on during the
ride...no matter how bumpy it gets.
