*** Totally agree. These aren't romance novels. The battle of good and evil
will always be the primary concern. :)

*** Shippers give up? Haha. Don't count on it. Trust me, the "shipping wars"
won't be over no matter what happens in OotP. It will simply fuel the fire. Any
pairing that occurs in Book Five will become fodder for supporters of that ship,
while supporters of competing ships will say (paraphrasing your post) "just
you wait, just you wait."

Shippers have simply invested so much in their love boat of choice that they'll
go down with the ship. Something tells me that even once we all learn the
fates of these characters in Book Seven, people will still argue that so and so
really should have ended up with so and so. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Being a shipper myself, I really shouldn't act like I'm not a little ship crazy. I
will certainly continue to fervently support my ships even after OotP. It ain't
over til the fat lady sings (JKR writes). Once she does, hopefully all will be
resolved one way or another....forever. I don't know if I could stand a lifetime
of the shipping wars.
