Well. . .I've been reading that "Uncovering the Mysteries of Harry Potter"
book as well as re-reading GoF and PoA. Those books, as well as some things
that have been said on various boards and what I've read elsewhere have made
certain things pop up in my mind. What if - and I really don't like this theory,
but it's forming in my mind anyway (and if somebody else has thought of it, my
apologies for repeating -- this is just what has occurred to me in the last
few days) -- what if Harry, like Fawkes, is somebody who gets "reborn" every so
often -- or as the need arises? He could be a young Voldemort, that theory
has been tossed about, but who would (or could) cause THAT kind of magic?? I
don't like that idea much, but it has crossed my mind. But what if Harry is
Godrick Gryffindor reborn? With a dash of Salazar Slytherin, based on his
mother's strikingly green eyes. . . . I think Fawkes is so attracted to Harry
because there is something of his former master in the boy (IOW, I think Fawkes
may have belonged to Godrick). Or maybe he's just attracted to Harry's courage
and inherent goodness, who knows? Speculating is fun, though. I'm struck by
Tom Riddle's having "jet black hair like Harry's" (CoS) and Harry's thinking
Riddle's name sounded familiar, "like a name he knew in childhood"
(paraphrasing here -- hope I have it accurate!) Many many mysteries here -- can't wait to
get to the next "unraveling the mystery" stage (reading OoP!!!)
