It's tough to say, though.  An old boyfriend of mine was half 
Chinese, and his name was Chan Shiao Yung, which meant that Yung was 
his first name, and Chan was his surname.  But when he moved to 
North America, he had 'Yung Chan' in the phone book, and when he 
introduced himself to anyone, he called himself 'Yung Chan'.  So if 
Cho did the same, then in fact Cho is her common name, Chang her 
surname.
