I'm going to an HP party tonight with some friends. For GoF, I went
to a release party at a bookstore by myself, and I got to do
something that I might not get to do tonight: observe the children.
Watching all these kids of various ages, races, some with costumes
and some without, was one of the more moving things I have ever
seen. The wide eyes, the big smiles, the bubbly anticipation - I was
envious, yet, at the same time, I was the same as them. And the
simple fact that all these kids were reading and not watching TV or
playing video games was quite fulfilling. So go, experience it, and
you'll probably see a little of yourself, your son, in every child
there. I came out of the bookstore with a little more than just a
book. I had a little hope as well.
