JKR's imagination - and her heart - had the luxury of a great deal of
freedom of expression in her first four books. The result was
storytelling rich in colorful characters and wonderfully full of
elaborate details. With OOP she has had to begin the daunting task
of weaving all the threads she created together to eventually wind up
the series. She must do this while maintaining the literary
excellence that makes her writing so spectacular. Isn't it possible
that Sirius' death was primarily due to the fact that his continued
existence would simply have created more loose ends than could be
brought to a satisfactory conclusion within the realm of this
series? After all, didn't JKR say that the death was necessary for
the plot? There are, of course, many ways to interpret her comment,
but she is, in the end, the one who has to do the writing!
