Yes. When I read "Crucio" I was surprised it came out of Harry's mouth. I 
did a double take. But then I was more surprised it didn't have more of an 
effect, even after it was all explained why not. He was just *so* angry, but 
oh well.

I'm afraid I'm with you on this one. In CoS Dobby says that there is Dark 
Magic that "no decent wizard" (including Dumbledore earlier in that quote) 
would use. Now we know Moody wouldn't use the Unforgivables when he was an 
Auror even though he'd been given the okay. And I can't see most of the 
other 'Good Guys' using them either...

So maybe this will come back to haunt Harry in the next book. No one but 
him, Bellatrix, and *maybe* Voldemort saw him do this, no one on the Good 
Team. I'm thinking a Parseltongue thing where Harry lets it slip that he 
perform an Unforgivable and everybody treats him differently. OR Voldemort 
uses it to mess with Harry's head in a, "We're no different, Potter." kind 
of way. Thus making Harry question himself and getting upset that the other 
characters would look down on him even though he used it on a villian. (Oh, 
oh, I made a quick little post a few days ago on just this thing! # 61079)

I wish I could but like it says Harry is going to either be 'victim' or 
'murderer'. If he's 'victim', then the whole WW is doomed, murderer, a 
murderer. But we do have one hope... Harry's weapon that Voldemort just 
doesn't understand.
