And also Sirius's comment about Snape being Malfoy's lapdog was 
illuminating.  Snape might not have gone back to Voldemort but try 
to wring information out from the Malfoys.  So, I guess it also 
confirm the theory that 'Snape-is-nice-to-Draco-to-get-to-Lucius'.
