Valky,
I began lurking when I realised the enormity of the task of
considering the numerous posts here today, in addition to, of course,
absorbing the gigantuan, story that OOP is.
I posted about ten in a row in OT chatter when I realised it was
open. In short OOP was marvellous, and savoury every bittersweet
detail I charged in blazing to start a discussion.
After much public blubbering and a short discussion with my daughter
about "who died" in the Harry Potter book, it finally sunk in.
All my anticipation after POA, all my hopes of Harry's normal, happy
life with a loving parent. Dashed, in a subtle, sudden, unexpected
moment that was so delicately entangled in an emotional and
frightening construct I hadn't even realised it was real.
In context, does the number of O.W.L.'s Harry recieves and their
grade have any further relevance? Can they help him overcome death
and loneliness? Too soon for me to say "chin up, Harry! you got an
*outstanding* O.W.L., remember.".
[That is, assuming Dolores was unable to instigate her obvious plan
to deprive him of that, also, prior to her loss of dominance (and
sanity it might seem).]
