First off, is anyone else ticked that they haven't sung the school
song since the first book???? I miss it. Especially since there are
rarely other mentions of music, and I believe music to be a VERY
important part of life. But that's just me.
Second: There were 30 (31 counting Harry?) students in his first
Defense Against the Dark Arts Class. How can that be? From what I
could tell, there were only Gryfindors, or at least only Gryfindors
asked questions. And I don't remember mentions of other houses
sharing DADA class with them in previous books. So just how many
Gryfindors are there in Harry's year? And if it wasn't just
Gryfindors in the class, was it also Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw?
Because you'd think it would mention if Draco were there.
Third: What the sorting hat said/sang. "The four good friends decided
and never did they dream that they might someday be divided." Anyone
else see this as a prophecy/warning of sorts for what might happen to
Harry/Ron/Herminone/Neville?/Ginny? or even to
Draco/Crabbe/Goyle/Pansy?
Fourth: Why does McGonagall never call Harry "Harry"? She always
calls him Potter.
Fifth: God and Wizards. I've noticed that they don't take the Lords
name in vain, as most normal people would. Wizards say "Merlin's
beard!" or "What in the name of Merlin are you doing?" So do they
consider Merlin a godlike wizard? If they do, that would definitely
have to connect them to the royal family, as Merlin was King Arthur's
advisor.
