I think that Snape helping Harry in the book had more to do with his 
duty as a member of the Order,not him starting to soften up to 
Harry.  And chances are, everyone in the Order have been told 
probably by Dumbledore to protect Harry from danger.  I do think 
however that Snape might lighten up a bit towards Harry, seeing that 
outside of the wizarding world, Harry has had a really miserable 
life, which can be comparable to Snape's own life at Hogwarts while 
still a student.
