I actually kind of liked that scene, and since the war has officially
begun I expect we'll see lots more like that. (JKR used the
words "blood bath" in the Katie Couric interview. Hopefully it won't
all happen front and center . . .)
That brings up another thought I had in relation to filming the
books. While GOF will be a logistical nightmare, it occurred to me
that in spite of its length, OOP will fit pretty nicely into the film
format. Much of the text is taken up with thoughts, character
development and Harry's angst - actual *events* are pretty simple and
straightforward. I'd hate to think that JKR is writing for the
screen, but with the exception of a few new creatures (which will be
CGI anyway) she's made this one pretty easy to film, I think. (I vote
Kathy Bates to play Umbridge.)
