I agree with you, Sayuri.  I think JKR is showing that in a war 
people we love die senselessly.  I feel so bad for Harry because 
Sirius was his one "sensible" adult guardian.  I think this event - 
more than any before will set Harry completely apart from normal 
school life.  He knows he has to kill Voldemort now.  He knows 
everyone he loves is in serious danger.  I think the 6th book will 
show Harry working his butt off to be prepared for his final battle 
with Voldemort.  And I predict one on one lessons with Dumbledore.
