I think it IS because she's been turned off to divination.  In my 
opinion, Hermione deals with facts.  She double checks everything.  
When Harry tells her that Sirius is in danger, she even wants more 
proof on that.

Plus this may be a personal slam against Lavender.  Lavender is very 
girly.  She tries to dress up, she tries to impress boys, and she 
loves the mystery surrounding divination.  Lavender is almost 
everything Hermione disapproves of.  Hermione also dismisses Luna 
because Luna is fanciful, but later Hermione is forced to change her 
mind.

I think Hermione is very stubborn.  She thinks everyone should live 
life the way she does (example: trying to trap house elves into 
freedom.)  She's good and smart, and so we can easily ignore how 
bossy she is.  But if she wasn't so logical, I could imagine her 
being somewhat more intolerant.
