Following what David said, I came up with my own conclusion. What if that was the thing that effected him to make the mistake of becoming a Death Eater? It would make since, wouldn't it? Snape wanted revenge of that arrogant prat James and Sirius, so he decided to get revenge by using Voldemort... hmmm... and he must have been really angry, and didn't WANT to sort though the goods and bads of becoming a Death Eater *Right* then.
