Here's a thought that just occurred to me. Please bear with me. I
think I figured out why DD had his famous gleam. I think I've
figured out what could be a downfall to LV.
LV touches HP after the spell is completed (in GoF). He wants to use
Harry's blood because he knows that he can't touch Harry and that his
blood has special protection in it because his mother died to save
him. So, he uses Harry's blood & he now has Lily's blood in his
veins and now has the power of love coursing through him.
DD said that Lily had given Harry lingering protection because she
died saving Harry. Then he said, "While you can still call home the
place where your mother's blood dwells, there you cannot be touched
or harmed by Voldemort. ... You need to return there only once a
year..." (US, Ch. 37, p. 836)
Now, wouldn't this mean that LV thinks that him and Harry are on the
same page now, that they have the same identical blood. Let's say
that it has been about a year since he first got Harry's blood.
Wouldn't this mean that the LV will not be protected by the blood the
next time they interact? That because Harry can call the place where
his mother's blood dwells home and offers him extra protection. LV
doesn't have that. Isn't his going back to the Dursley's home what
seals the blood protection? Won't LV have the same reaction if he
tries to lay hands on Potter? And if LV doesn't go to the Dursley's
home then the love protection of the blood is broken?
Does that make sense? I think it does. It could explain the
famous "DD Gleam". LV would be confident and wouldn't realize that
he would have any risk to himself and would touch Harry or do
something as equally as foolish in the year after he takes Harry's
blood. That his idea of "protection" won't really work. They are
going to get him on the fact that he doesn't know the entire spell.
Just like he doesn't know the entire prophecy.
Merlin's Beard, I think I've got it!!!
Tell me what you think!
