Actually IMO I feel that from the beginning of OOP that Sirius was
going to snuff it. Firstly it was never going to be anyone obvious -
that rules out Ginny, Hagrid, Colin etc, JK is too clever for that,
and she did place a few red herrings along the way. Also Sirius'
character is portrayed as being frustrated throughout the book, not
really doing much except spring cleaning, brooding and ruminating. I
felt a sense of foreboding when Sirius was telling Harry about the
Black family tapestry and his link with Death Eaters, I'm not sure
exactly why. And Hermione saying that Sirius is living his life
through Harry that put the last nail in the coffin. Saying this, his
death was over very quickly and unexpectedly-i had to reread the
paragraph a few times before his death sank in. Sirius is one of my
favourite characters and I think I'll miss him almost as much as
Harry will!! :(

And what do you guys think of Luna Lovegood? I think she'll become a
valued participant in the fight against Voldemort, but no romance
between Harry and Luna. I really believe that Harry and Ginny will
end up together but not for some time. I think Cho is out of the
picture - she is portrayed as needy and jealous, understandable I
suppose, but it's not what Harry needs, he needs someone like Ginny
who really began to be a character in her own right. Didn't JK say
that all the characters would be attracted to the 'wrong' person??

An excellent book, but much bleaker and darker than the rest. The
only book so far to bring tears to my eyes - when Dumbledore told
HArry why he didn't make him a prefect.

And finally - OWLS! How long do we need to wait to find out their
results??!! Hopefully not three years!

Best wishes to you all!
