>I relly feel sorry for Snape. I've always thought he was the kind of kid

>a weirdo, and you still have friends. Just even more people that hate you)
>But I refuse to dislike James and MWPP for this. I mean, who do you know
>who was the best person they could be at fifteen? People change throughout

I'll admit, a lot of teenaged boys can be idiots, but I didn't ever meet any
who I thought would have done a muggle version of what James and Sirius did
just because they were bored. It seems that James grew up a little over the
year following this scene, but still continued to torture Severus whenver he
was sure Lily wouldn't find out. There's going to have to be a LOT of
explaining before I see James as an acceptable excuse for a human being.

>God and Wizards. I've noticed that they don't take the Lords name in vain,
>as most normal people would. Wizards say "Merlin's beard!" or "What in the
>name of Merlin are you doing?"

Hmm, Fudge said "for God's sake!" on pg 149 of the US OOP hardcover, does
that count as "in vain"? In any case, It struck me as odd that. I think it
was the first time a wizard mentioned God.

>Incidentally, don't you just LOVE the illustrations? they really give you
>an idea of what's awaiting you in the chapter :)

Actually I don't. I quite loath the artist's style, it twists my mental
images of the characters. Not to mention that I want to throw/break
something every time I'm exposed to her vision of Snape.
