Page 671: "Snape was a special case. I mean, he never lost an
opportunity to curse James, so you couldn't really expect James to
take that lying down, could you?"
At some point, Snape went from retaliation and self-defense to
attack, putting James in the self-defense, retaliation mode. I admire
Snape's spunk, but the fact is, he kept the fight going after James
seemed willing to let it go.
Don't blame Snape, necessarily, but I am pointing out that Snape kept
it going.
