Who says that the prophecy was the weapon they were guarding???? 
Especially considerng that Dumbledore knew that no one except harry 
or voldemort could remove it and voldemort wasn't about to come 
barging into the ministry of magic to do so, it makes no sense that 
he would station people around the clock to guard it. More likely the 
weapon is something else hidden in the department of mysteries, after 
all Dumbledore never refers to the prophecy as a weapon, nor does he 
mention that he was guarding it. Perhaps it is something behind the 
locked door....?
