Something about the snitch and romance being linked has been
screaming in my head for the past 24 hours. James doodling the
snitch beside Lily's initials and then trying to impress the girls
(including Lily-or maybe just Lily) beside the lake by throwing the
snitch up in the air and catching it. On page 655 of the US version
(chapter 29) Ginny delivers to Harry a chocolate egg decorated with
small icing snitches. He unwraps and eats part of the egg, and so
does Ginny. Something about that just lept off the page at me.
Could this be a symbol of love between the couples? Are we to
believe that Ginny and Harry could be experiencing romance in the
future? Of course, being a strong Harry/Ginny shipper I could be
reading more into this than there is.
Also, someone mentioned something before about Sirius having given
Harry a knife as a gift in GOF. A knife symbolizes the severing of
a relationship. Look what happened to poor Sirius (I'm still crying
over that.) Does anyone know if perhaps the gift of an egg is
symbolic of something. Or am I making too much of an Easter treat?
Toad (who can't think straight right now--not enough sleep, too many
tears)
