He should have remembered about the object Sirius gave him
specifically for communication in time of need, instead of "wallowing
in his emotions", as Snape would put it. Okay, obviously at that point
he wasn't thinking clearly, but Hermione was, and if he'd stopped
being angry at any point preceding this to discover the useful mirror,
he could have talked to Sirius. But then Sirius wouldn't have died,
and Harry wouldn't have joined his godfather (and Snape?) in platinum
membership of the 'It Was My Fault They Died' guilt club.
