Well, I finished reading OOTP in less than 12 hours and I must say
that IMO it is an absolutely terrific story...I really loved it and
couldn't put it down. We all have our opinions, of course, but for
those who found that Harry was too angry in this book, or those who
are sorry that he tried to perform an "unforgivable" curse on a death
eater should put themselves in that poor kids shoes for just one
moment! Remember what he just witnessed before he went after the
death eater...IMO it would not have been natural if he had reacted in
any other way. His reactions are what makes Harry so very real to me.
I find that he remains absolutely admirable and JK does not
disappoint.
As far as the character who dies in the story again IMO it is a good
choice (funny thing to say, I know). I was also very fond of this
person but I see where the author might be heading with this
one...Harry has to be pushed to the very limits of his endurance
before he can eventually perform what is in the prophecy. I, for one,
don't want to see Voldermort come out on top!
As a mother I wish that I could reach into the book, pull out Harry
and hold him for a good long time in my arms...the poor guy needs
healing big time and never seems to get the physical comforting he
requires.
Last little item: I much enjoyed the things we find out from
Dumbledore and the things we found out about Snape...as well as
Harry's reaction to the latter.
Once again, A+++ and can't wait for the next one! Thanks JK!
Nicole
