I'm not entirely sure how much Snape was accepted back into the
fold. He only makes passing mention of his mission. Is he in
contact with Voldemort himself, or just with some of the
Deatheaters (like Malfoy)? I can't imagine Voldie accepting him
back, but I can imagine Malfoy passing on information, either
directly or through Snape's legilimancy abilities. Of course that
would have to mean that Voldie hasn't told the Deatheaters not to
trust Snape, but how often do the Deatheaters meet, and how much does
Voldie share with them? The only time we've seen a meeting of
Voldemort and the Deatheaters, at the cemetery at the end of GoF,
everything he's told his followers has been kind of vague and could
be taken a couple of different ways.

Just a couple of not-fully-baked ideas.
