C McK: When you suddenly get a little nugget like that, there has to
be a reason. I was never one for Mentor!Lucius before, but now begin
to suspect something along those lines. Especially as it seems that
Snape's current activities have something to do with him, with the
comment from Umbridge and Sirius?s lapdog jibe. I think the jury's
still out on his treatment of Draco. If Lucius took Snape into the
DEs, there'd be some serious conflict there, but he might still be in
some way grateful, if Lucius did anything that made teenage life more
bearable at the time.

C McK: Knowing what Azkaban does to one's hair, I imagine he doesn't
need the Dementors to have nightmares! However, Sirius's hair now
seems back to normal (loved the way he kept flicking it out of his
eyes; reminded me of teenage girls), so perhaps he will recover when
he gets out.

Lucius has got to get out ? it's not as if no-one knows how. Though
Voldy might be a bit miffed about things going wrong, Lucius, is one
of the more, er, stable DEs, hence a useful chap. What I don't see yet
is what Lucius thinks he'll get out of Voldemort?'s triumph. He?s not
a worshipper like Bellatrix or weak in the same way as Wormtail. He's
got money, power, influence etc, already. Is it a bandwagon for the
moment that's going in the same direction and when he wants to he'll
jump off for himself, or can Voldy really offer something BIG? As yet,
we haven't seen it.
Looking forward to a bit more Narcissa in Book 6.
