I still feel this way, but I admit I was given pause to find out
that, assuming Snape was in Slytherin, the Dark Arts classes were
Gryff and Slyth shared (and Prof. Flitwick was the teacher!
Although, it is possible that he was just the proctor of the OWL
exam and the regular teacher was somewhere else.)
That seems a bit bold, don't you think? To put Gryff and Slyth in
the Dark Arts classes during the rise of Voldemort, which, make no
mistake, probably tinged everything about Hogwarts.
Now me (Kirstini):
But that was just the exam, which the entire year takes together -
"Parkinson, Patil, Patil, Potter" are called out for the first one
together, and Draco is glaring over at Harry and smashes his
wineglass. That was either Charms or Transfiguration, neither of
which the Gryffs have with the Slyths in real class time. Actually,
I've always found this a bit odd. As the kids begin to take
electives in third year, surely their classes would change according
to requirement? But nope. Divination is still all Gryffs, and they
still take CoMC with the Slyths. Those two are electives, so surely
there would be a mixed group of all the students in that year who
were interested?
I'm beginning to agree with the poster who identified anti-Ravenclaw
predjudice.
Oh, and Zacharias Smith? He wasn't a warm and cuddly kinda
Hufflepuff, was he? And how come we've never heard of him in
Herbology before?
Kirstini (currently trying for LOON membership, it would seem)
